Welcome to Elm Class, Y1 and 2 at Temple Normanton Junior Academy.

Our class teachers are Mrs Parker and Miss Liljendahl and our teaching assistant is Mrs Barteczko Hibbert. Mrs Fox covers the teachers' PPA time.

In Y1 and 2 we are committed to supporting you when you take the next step in your learning journey.

It can sometimes feel like a big jump to change classrooms or year groups, but we make sure our Y1/2 provision is set up to support everyone in our classroom, providing you with a safe, nurturing space to learn and grow in.

We are very excited to teach you lots of wonderful things about the world around us, to help us all to become world citizens. We will read lots of stories to develop our love of reading, and we will learn how we can apply our knowledge in lots of different subjects so that we can continue to be aspirational and have BIG DREAMS for the future.

We like to work together, discuss our ideas and have time to laugh and smile along the way.

We can’t wait to support you to be the best that you can be! 😊

 

Things to remember

*Make sure you read at least 3 times a week with your grown-ups (make sure they sign your planner)

*PE day – Friday – Please come to school in your kit so we can enjoy our afternoon of PE.

*We like to invite grown-ups in to learn with us throughout the year. Keep an eye out for details, and we look forward to seeing your grown-ups too.
